TaM Retro, working out of Little London Studios, re-introduces artists and bands from the seventies and eighties -
back live on stage today. Some bringing back the songs they made famous all those years ago, some shedding
a different light on their talents with new material ... or a mixture of both for you to enjoy.
Currently TaM Retro is working with ...
TaM Retro and
Dave Sharp - formerly guitarist in The Alarm. Now he’s available as a solo acoustic artist plus band projects,
The Hard Travelers, alongside Henry McCullough (Wings), Zoot Money (The Animals), Gary Fletcher (The Blues Band),
and Colin Allen (Bob Dylan) - blues rock with roots in the ethics of Woodie Guthrie; also coming soon is Dave’s new
Alarm band - AOR - bring the sound of the US set list, which had a heavier rock influence than the more glam punk
of the UK sets.
Check out the video of Dave’s live interview on brfm radio (Real Player required)
TaM Retro and
Eric Faulkner - of the legendary Bay City Rollers. Eric also performs a solo acoustic set of self-penned songs - his
lyrics tackling a variety of issues, political and social. Alternatively, relive the tartan-clad days with Eric Faulkner’s
Bay City Rollers, or if you’re just after a straight rock sound - Rollerhead are available to knock your socks off.
TaM Retro and
Jimmy Pursey - charismatic and energetic frontman of Sham 69 has now formed a new band DAY 21. Moving away
from the skinhead, Oi! of the old Sham 69, DAY 21 gives a fresh sound to Jimmy’s vocals - Kings of Leon meets The
Mighty Boosh. Jimmy is backed by Mat Sargent (also from Sham 69) and, from Towers of London, The Rev, on guitar,
and Snell, on drums.
TaM Retro and
Poly Styrene - Poly burst on stage as a diminutive seventeen year old fronting avant gard punk band X-Ray Spex.
On September 6th Poly will be performing with newly formed X-Ray Spex at London’s Roundhouse. Next year she is
looking to form a new band as Poly Styrene, performing her new material, together with a few of her old Spex songs.
TaM Retro and
Rhoda Dakar and Nick Welsh - Rhoda (AKA Specials) and Nick (Bad Manners) have teamed up to bring all the old
favourites from both bands, and others, in a relaxed unplugged, acoustic session. Sometimes they may be joined on
stage by any number of friends from other bands - no names in advance, just occasional surprises!
