Lisa’s Story

Moon Talent Management

I was scammed over the weekend by “Josephine” from Moon Talent Management.  She approached me through Instagram after seeing my StarNow profile and offered me a role as an extra for a WHO Covid commercial being shot in Stockholm at Drottningholm Slott.  I live in Sweden, so that seemed to make sense that she was looking for someone local in the area.

She said that a 400 euro caution fee was required to ensure that I showed up for the job.

I unfortunately gave a credit card.  They charged me $490 and ran it as a cash advance which caused exorbitant fees to also be added.

As it was the weekend, I didn’t hear back from the place where the commercial was supposedly being shot until first thing Monday morning when they responded to my email and stated that there was no such commercial being filmed.

I am disputing the charge with my credit card company.  Not sure who else to contact?

My credit card is treating it as a “dispute” since I authorized the charge (although I did NOT authorize a cash advance which is how they ran it).  I just submitted a formal email to Moon Talent demanding a refund as they are in breach of contract so that my credit card sees that I am clearly disputing it on grounds of fraud.  I also have downloaded my entire instagram conversation (all 100 pages from over the weekend) to submit with my claim.

How horrible that there are such dishonest criminals in the world!

I actually tried to research this company online before sending my credit card info but couldn’t find anything!  Today I only found your article because I added “Josephine” to my search....the more people who know about this the better.

Since I reported her to Instagram earlier today she has been removed.  I know that she’ll just reopen under a new name but at least I put a kink in her day.

Before she was removed, I methodically went through her follower list and sent them a heads up that I had been scammed over the weekend.  Many other people replied back with similar stories.

I also sent (and urged others to send their story too) my story to Star Now as that is where she claims to have seen my profile.  Frankly, at the time she contacted me I had literally only one post on Instagram and no followers so I doubt she found me accidentally there.  It probably was Star Now.

I have not heard back from them yet.

Anyway!  Keeping you posted!
